  • Nice looking Bike

Lots out there to consider, but a 105 for sub 1k is okay.

What else have you looked at? ThisBikes like this Full Carbon Focus are out there.
  • not too much really, but heard that 09 105 is last years Ultegra rebadged, also as it bike to work I thought full alloy frame would probably be a good bet, the odd review i've seen rates it fairly high.
Need a triple really as in Derbyshire Peak area also hate to say it and I've never done this before picked it because I like the colour also as most 2010 bikes and most 09's are boring white/black mat silver jobbies.

  • Must admit I got my first bike because I like the look of it  Never looked back
  • At 50/39/30 on a 12 - 27 cassette I would be surprised that you would use the 30 Ring. Has anyone out there got a trip. and used the small from ring?
  • funny thing is I was taking the mick out of one of the ladies in the office when she was talking about her mtb, I asked her which model/make it was and she said
" its a red and black one and it's fast especially down big hills"!!!!!!
Now I am thinking of buying a bike(I will order it tomorrow) because of the colour!!! doh! that's shallow I think!

  • :D Just enjoy it m8, beware though, you may end up with more than 1 bike
  • I'VE ALREADY GOT 14! just needed something really modern for dry weather commuting.

Nice bike, do you have to pay list price??..Only reason I ask is I bought a 2009 1.9 with Ultegra for less £, last month....worth hunting around.
  • We can only use certain suppliers, I know 105 is decent kit and if this IS? last years Ultegra then it definately should be ok?
I know Trek alloy frames have a good rep and the rest of the build looks reliable, getting around a 3rd off so it's not bad...what/where did you get yours it may be on the list of suppliers?

I bought the last 1 they had in stock which happened to be the right size,,,if you want a 2009 1,9, they are now quite hard to find in popular sizes,,,best call round your list of suppliers to see what is available..Good luck

It's a nice bike, only one I've tried so far - was going to buy it when (if) our C2W finally starts but have decided to pay a bit myself and go for a carbon. 105 components have always been the best value for money IMHO.

I've got a triple 50/39/30 x 12-25 and do sometimes use the granny ring even round here, especially when I'm knackered.
  • ordered it today, the ball is rolling! it will be ready for the 28th apparently!

A friend bought one a few months ago and we did the Dragon Sportive together. He did it in silver with not a lot of training and was very pleased with the bike.
