Just curious:
It's obviously a great (alternative ) site for GPX files, but how many of you actually subscribe and pay to use their 'print' function? Or knows someone who does.
Ta.

Would never pay, and I can't think of a friend who would pay.
I use http://www.openstreetmap.org/ or Anquet.CAAD9

http://www.cyclestreets.net/ use the openstreetmap source mentioned by Buckled-rims above but with an overlay of cycle routes, photos, etc. Their journey planner is only for shortish distances so you might have to plan a 60 mile route in 3 20-mile sections.
If you want to plan your own routes, mapyx's Quo v2 is pretty cheap and has a good print programme. The software is free but you have to pay for OS maps at very reasonable prices. I think 10 10X10km 1:250000 OS maps cost about £12.
Both these give elevation profiles and are exportable to GPS devices.0
