Elixirs rubbing

I've just fitted new pads to my elixirs on my boardman and they are rubbing, i have pushed back the piston before fitting and have also undone the bleed screw on the lever while pushing the piston back in to leave out some fluid incase there was to much in there and i have loosened off the caliper while holding the lever and retightened . But they still seem to rub, could it be a case of being to much fibre on the pads as they are new?
