Or do I have to access it from an email only?

I can't find anything in my profile, or anywhere else to click to access my PMs.

    You're a dufus

Go to the BikeRadar Forum Index and look towards the top left of the screen. You'll see a message saying no messages, or messages. Click it to access your inbox.

I found if you set it to pop-up it will still get blocked if you have things like ad-blocker on your computer.
