Been offered a set of new carbon K Force ISIS cranks for £80 and currently have FSA Gossamer Pro Mega Exo on my bike.

Assuming an ISIS BB will be £40, is this a worthwhile upgrade or is Mega Exo to ISIS a backward step? Presumably ISIS will fit?

Weight savings about 250g apparently......

ISIS BB's aren't very durable IME - consequence of weenie bearings - but they'll probably last longer than external bearing BB's which offer limited durability for all-year riding - I have worn them out in a winter's riding.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Hmm - Monty is a genius around here but I am going tohave to disagree with him.

imo the external BB's are miles ahead of the crappy ISIS stuff - which wear out every five minutes.

ok, maybe not - but seriously ISIS is rubbish and is (again IMO) a backward step from your gossamer.

Thanks - are all ISIS BB's cr@p or are some better than others. Was thinking about FSA Platinum Pro which comes with a 2 year warranty - can't be that bad can they............?

there are some posh SKF ones which are highly rated - but they are (i think) over £70 which just takes the p1ss really - a 105 spec HT2 BB is under £20 so could nearly be replaced (which is a ten minute job on HT2) 4 times for the same price

and of course it would be lighter, stiffer etc....
