Internal gear hub / belt drive question

Excuse me if this sounds a little daft. Can you get internal gear hubs to work on racing drop bars? What sort of shifters are required. Would love to have a belt drive commuting bike with drop bars. Cant go single speed as I have too many hills to cope with on my daily commute. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have a hub with flats, but I was VERY interested in an alfine with drops. I think "Bombersque" has done it... Will try to find the thread. From memory it was a self build....0

I don't have the know how yet myself....but perhaps you can get someone to build it for you.0 -
I've been looking into the same thing.
You can mount the grip shifter on the bar end like Sheldon Brown

or jtek produced a bar end shifter designed to work with hubs, not sure how easy they are to get hold of though

Thanks people. Some good information there and I have to say I'm hopeful that I can get something sorted for next year. That Alfine Crosscheck is very close to what I'm after but I do like the idea of the belt drive. Something like a Trek Soho, take of the flat bars and put on some drops with that bar end shifter. Could that work??0

I guess you'd also need to think about the brake levers if you wanted to change a soho (or similar) to drop bars.0

I guess Shimano's next step is to make Di2 shifters work with their hub gear products. How cool would that be?- - - - - - - - - -
