    VAM is such a pointless measure on climbs like that. It's short and steep so the VAM will be way higher than on a proper mountain ascent.

    Vino is also a client.

    As you say, the VAM's and wattages are not comparable to other climbs, only really to the same climb and that's assuming the same conditions, eg wind direction/strength. But either way, Evans is on form.

    VAM is a pointless measure full stop.

    Keeping power constant, as the gradient steepens, VAM goes up. There's no magical gradient range where it's valid. You can only compare identical climbs using VAM.
