Does anyone have any views about the Dawes Horizon vs the Galaxy.

Is the £350 or so price difference worth the extra for the latter?

Same question with a £50 difference... Why? :?
Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!
  • Sorry I got lost in the system - thought one message hadn't got through!!!

The Galaxy does seem expensive and I've just been told the Hewitt Cheviot is probably a better option.
  • For what it's worth, I've had a Galaxy - several years ago, so probably not the same spec as current, and now have one of Paul Hewitt's Cheviot SE tourers. A significantly better bike - although as I say, not sure about current comparisons. Also, with the Hewitt, you get an hour on a fitting jig, being measured up before your bike is built.

Thanks Rick I was measured up for my Cheviot SE today! It will be an interesting first ride some weeks hence as I've never ridden a modern machine, taking up cycling again 4 years ago (after a 35 year gap) when I inherited an old Carlton which I have to say I much enjoy riding.
  • Enjoy!

I've had a Cheviott for three years now, I have been very happy with it
  • Take alook at the price of Dawes Tourers on the special offer page at:
