Rack eyelets

Trying to help a friend with a new road bike and she's after something that will take a rack. Not a full on touring bike, but something that has rack eyes. I can only think of Giant Avail/Defy, Kenesis T2/Tk2 and Trek 1.5 WSD, can anyone think of anything else?

Also has anyone run a rack on a Giant, are there any problems with the rack arms hitting the brakes? Looks like it might be a bit of a tight fit.

It depends on the rack. Both Tubus and oldmanmountain make racks that can be fitted for roadbikes without eyelets. The lighter Tubus ones (so far as I can work out) are only suitable for bikes with old style canti brakes.

You can also buy seat clamps with built in eyelets - M-Part is one manufacturer. these are particularly useful for womens bikes as the small frame size combined with 700cc wheels means that the top of the seat stays are well below the top of the rear wheel, making rack fitment (even with eyelets) very difficult.

I've used a rack on my Giant Defy with no probs (until I stupidly threaded the eyelet - so now use a bolt on that one...!)

I think my rack's a Topeak one - but I can't really remember - they all look pretty much the same don't they?!
