Looking to get some overshoes to make winter riding warmer and drier - any advice or recommendations on the various brands available?

I use the Endura roadie ones. Tough and work well. Not really tried many others - had some Altura ones which were okay, but the Enduras are better

I like the Enduras also, nice and close fitting so they don't cause crank rub.

Even better, buy some winter cycling boots.

I actually prefer my normal shoes and overshoes to winter boots

Pro Tarmac NPU+... The dogs b0llox....

If 007 rode a bike, these would be in his kit bag

Way too warm for the moment surely?

I have the NPU+ and the h20 and both are the dogs as you say though. Also picked up a piar of their gloves last week, awesome kit at a sensible price.

Crappy ddb ones of ebay. Lasted all last winter and just got 'em back out for the rain. Probably will go for the tarmac ones when the deepest winter sets in as these do now have a small hole, not bad though think they were under a tenner inc postage :)

I have only worn the H20 ones so far (during several 12 mile morning and vening commutes in pouring rain) and they have been superb, not let a bead of water in.

I can't comment on the NPU+ yet but they have a similar coating on the surface and are thick neoprene.

The fastening on both is exactly the same. I would imagine the only time they would leak might be when the surface is damaged or when it runs down you shin/calf (mine are a good tight fit so seems unlikely on such a short trip that I would ever notice the latter.

I have the Endura but I found last year that my feet were always soaking in downpours so I wasn't overly impressed.

I've bought sealskinz socks for this year and will use them with the Endura overshoes but haven't used this combo yet. Hopefully better results than last year.

Yes, they are waterproof, but, after a while you'll find the water gets in between your leg and the top of the overshoe!...
