Hey guys,
I've looked at the Superstar wheelsets, and well so far up to today i've been more than happy with their service and brakepads. Am looking to jump and try out their wheels and with uni costing me so much already i can't afford of being wrong and getting a "not so good" wheelset.
Tech2 DH Switch Wheelset - Pair

Tech2 Enduro Switch Wheelset - Pair

I've read on their main website that they are using bigger bearings instead of smaller ones. does that mean that they aren't so sure of their wheelsets durability with more bearings??
It is either that, or save up for a DT 5.1 with hope hubs wheelset which has had preety much thumbs up reviews from almost everyone i know that has bought erm in the past ferw months.
So my main questions are is the wheelset as good as it seems?
Has anyone had a go at them on a 2/3 months trial or longer?
Are they reliable on the long run?
All help is well appreciated
Thanks

wheelbuild is critical, get some wheels from merlin. 721 on the best hubs that fit your bike. Probably SLX without going the whole hog and getting hopes.
Or the stans flow rim is also very tough0 -
Dunno if it's too late to get on it but over on STW there is a group buy thing for Hope Hoops going on - you could get Hope Pro IIs with Stan's Flow, DT 5.1 or Mavic rims for £221 posted.0

Or the SP AM4's for £311. also just seen on the front page there is a review of the XC superlegerra wheels and Bikeradar seem to like them.
For the Hope wheels email rdcowie@talk21.com0 -

Hello the big bearings weigh about 20grams more than sizes "some other brands use" but last alot longer because they are not as low profile and dont have tiny balls. Its the best compromise if you want excellent relyability but arent counting the grams (which i doubt you are). Its the reason old hope hubs lasted forever!
Also all our wheels are handbuilt, so the quality is top notch. The reason they are cheap is because we only sell them direct, so no markup for middlemen.
Any questions please let me know, Neil0 -

Bontrager Rhythm Comps
same spec as the Superstar Enduros eg cartrige bearings, 22mm rim etc, but 1900gm rather than 2300gm, all for <£200, seem to be hard to find at the mo, but i got a new pair off fleebay for £120 8) Oh yeah and tubeless ready too, work a treat with TLR kit
