Quick question for those in th know about FS bikes.

I have the boardman pro FS 2009. After finishing the Brecon Beast I noticed a creaking coming from the bottom bracket. Well after some investigation I found out that the main pivot point for the FS (the linkage directly behind the bottom bracket) was loose. Not really loose, but loose enough to allow the drive train to pull the rear of the bike slightly off centre on every forward stroke. I tightened up the allan screws and all seems well.

My question is this, are there bearings in there or is it just a nylon bush and would the short time the play occured (about a 1 hour ride) be enough to cause any internal damage to what ever is in the linkage?

In fact if any body can explain the in workings of the linkage it would be appreciated.
