Is there a charge spoon specifically for road use - as the one below states its for freeride \trail use:-

it's just a saddle - it doesn't care what kind of bike it's fitted on....0

I just bought a Charge Knife - slimmed down Spoon apparently. Looks good and comfort-wise, so far so good. Good price at Winstanley (not a retailer I'd normally use, but no problems with them) as well.More problems but still living....0

The Knife's often marketed as a roadie saddle- because it's smaller and less comfy I guess, roadies like that.Uncompromising extremist0

A Spoon is ok for the money, but like all saddles it won't suit everyone. 20 quid for the cromo one does the job.0

I don't think they do, my Spoon's physically larger than my Knife, and more shaped. Both great saddles... But the Knife's flatter shape and reduced padding is going to make it less comfy for most people. The ti rails give it a nice flex but then, the ti Spoon does the same.Uncompromising extremist0

I use a fi'zi:k Arione (basic job) and Charge Spoon (chromo) on road bikes and find both suitable. Do 60 mile rides in the Dales on both.
Use the Charge Spoon for 20-25 mile rides on an old Kona mtb hardtail for 20-25 mile rides.
@r$£ has no complaints.
Charge Spoon is good value and I would give it a try.0 -

the base is the same, but the knife has more cutaway at the sides and lower profile rails, so it looks smaller from some angles...0 -
Hmm, you could be right actually, I was forgetting that the rails could be a different shape :oops:Uncompromising extremist0

I've just put the charge spoon chromo on my new trek1.2, its great after the bontrager saddle as standard.
Bought from Wiggle for around £22, used the free delivery and it came in 2 days from order.0 -
Got a Knife and it is super comfy, best saddle I've ever had (admittedly I haven't had many) but it suits my arse and it's cheap so bob's your unclex-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

I too have an arione and a spoon - both great saddles - spoon is excellent value and very comfy - mine is on my fixy and fine for 70 mile plus rides.0

been thinking of getting a spoon for my fixie0

Spoon is a bit wider than a Knife. The Knife is marketed more toward roadies, since you can move backwards and forwards on it a bit whilst still being able to pedal. This is useful if you change your position when on hoods/drops/hills/descents etc.0

No, went and looked, my Spoon and Knife definately do not have the same base.
I'm so cool :roll:Uncompromising extremist0 -
I've been running a Knife on my road bike for a few months (Im pretty sure the Knife is the slimmed down version of the Spoon but with same basic attributes) and so far so good. I've covered a few 40 - 50 milers with no problems but can;t vouch for it on very long days in the saddle. Great vaue too, and super light for the price.0
