Just washing the bike and noticed a split through on of the side blocks ,but is through to the tube It is only 10-12 mm long and looks more like a tear than a cut. It,s a 60a compound.
So my question is has anyone ever glued a tyre back together with any success. if so what glue did you use?
Its a new tyre used twice so a bit p--sed off as they arn't cheap. Or is it a new tyre?

Whats metal stiching?
metal stitching- i used a thin metal wire that is used on electronic circuit boards (not solder) which i had lying around, i found the cotton didnt last very long on the tread but is fine for sidewalls-if you can stitch it so the thread doesnt contact the floor your onto a winner.Dont look at it-ride it! they are tools not f*cking ornaments

metal stitching, glue, tape, old tyre - that's gonna be the frankenstein of the tyre world!!!
try everything and then post a photo of how this monster looks...Not really active0 -
seriously though - buy a new tyre. It'll only explode down some hill leaving you with a face with no skin...Not really active0

Buy anew tyre you tight a**e! Tyres are the only thing keeping you in contact with the ground. If there is one area that you should never skimp, whether its car or bike, is on your tyres!!!!Currently riding - Lapierre Zesty 314, as yet without any bling
New toy - Diamondback Mojito, SS rigid 29er

so the split has gone through a knobble? Is it a gash with a noticable hole or just a split? A picture would help if you could get one. To be honest, i reckon itll worth running for ages yet. There is a hell of a lot of rubber left if it just a split. Did whatever do it cause a puncture?i ride a hardtail0 -

Your right partyboy I will stop being a tight a--e and buy another, but I think I could sell the old one to Will snow he seems very keen

Buy a new one, thats what stops your face hitting the ground.
A wire bead one is only £20 and a kevlar is £280 -
I have added a link to a picture

new tyre, looks like it will be easily ripped off going round a corner!0

so there is just a tear in the rubber and not in the casing?
quite normal.blocks to get torn off."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

If your chucking it, sent it my way
Put a patch, or gaffa tape on the inside of the tyre, and fill the gash with superglue / patch glue.

i didnt think it looked to bad, for the split second per rotation that point of the tyre will be in contact with the trail i dont youll notice. still, you could use for commuter bike purposes mebbe?i ride a hardtail0
