The Humpback Wheel

Just got a Kenda Small Block 8 (1.95). Went to fit it (rims are Alex HRD) and I just cannot get the bead to sit properly.
There is always about 4-6 inches of the bead that sits in the well in the middle of the rim rather than in the groove. Also it keeps squashing the tape inside the rim to one side so when you blow the tyre up and spin the wheel the tyre looks egg shaped. The wheel is true and my old tyre didnt do this :?
I have tried inflating the tube slowly and quickly, putting fairy liquid on bead to make it easier to seat, changed the rimtape.
Any ideas how to make it sit properly??
Thanks

Use a track pump (or a car foot pump) and pump it up REALLY hard with plenty of soapy water ont he rim - it WILL pop on eventually.0

Or pop off the rim completely!0

All sorted now - the higher pressure car foot pump did it.
