Morning all, i'm after some advice/recommedations on a bike for my wife, i have just bought a trek1.2 and now the misses is after joining me on the road now and then.

We are not sure whether to go for a racer or hybrid, i think a hybrid?,

She is 5ft tall so it looks like a XS size and we have a budget of around £450, i have been looking at the new Specialized range but struggling to find the size with them being so new.

Any advice will be most gratefully received.

Cheers, Jon

Try Evans - they seem to have quite a few womens specific bikes on sale in smaller frame sizes. There are quite a few older models there that have been substantially reduced, so you may find a bargain. :D

If she's only going to come out for an very occasional bimble then a hybrid or even a hardtail MTB might be best.

Drops might be a bit daunting to an occasional user

My missus comes out with me once every few weeks and she complains about the bars on her MTB being too low (they're on a riser stem about level with the seat height).

    Bike for wife?

    Depends..........

Is it your wife for my bike or your bike for my wife?

    Sorry, couldn't resist. Just leaving....................
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.
