Ribble and Cycling Weekly - do they care about us ?

The "Health & Safety" excuse used in situations akin to this is usually total nonsense...
Rather, it's about a business's legal liability should anything happen to you while using or getting to and from their backroom facilities.
Blame the scummy ambulance chasing lawyers and a legal system which has allowed this nonsense to take hold in society and push out common sense and reasonable behaviour.
And next time your mate asks to use your loo, say sorry, no can do, too risky in case you slip, you'll have to go round the corner. Better still, don't let him or anyone else past your front gate, you never know what might happen and who might sue you. But make sure there's nothing sharp on your gate or garden fence in case someone, such as a burglar, cuts themselves, now you wouldn't want that, you have a duty of care you know.... Bo**ocks.0 -

Anyone had a similar experience to me at Ribble ? Drove 170 miles there, credit card at the ready, to be fitted for a TT Aero. Before getting on the fitting rig, I asked to use the loo, but was refused - because of an alleged "health and safety risk". They knew how far I'd travelled, but when I asked to see the general manager to question why something I have done several times a day for more than 40 years should suddenly be deemed dangerous, I was told he didn't want to speak to me. So my money will now be going elsewhere. Curiously, my letter on the subect to Cycling Weekly wasn't published...yes, that's right...the same Cycling Weekly which has Ribble as one of its regular advertisers.
So, you couldn't use the toilet so you never bought the bike you wanted after driving 170 mile for. Now a national magazine that they advertise with won't sever their ties with them over your toilet issues. How old did you say you were?
