Like the idea of renewable energy is the light good enough to see and be seen by? has anyone got one?

I doubt a single cell AA lamp will match your 5 watt lamp.

It will be very poor, the output will be far less, the solar cell will not provide enough charge (I have a larger solar charger, a PowerMonkey, that takes more than one day to recharge the battery) , the mount will break (if it is of typical Cateye design and quality) and when it does and your light goes under a truck the warranty support from the distributor, Zyro, will be a head smashing against brick wall, repeatedly, experience (i.e. non existent).

    See the What Lights thread.
