What are people's opinions on the new SRAM XX groupset? Has anyone used it yet? I am quite tempted by the brakes as they seem to be the only component you can use without the rest of the groupo.

Far to expensive for leisure riders, only for sponsored athletes or those with footballer/banker type salaries, but hopefully some of the technology will trickle down to the more affordable groupos.

Overpriced, I'm happy with my X7/9s thanks and I'm sure alot of other mountainbikers are too!

Shimano are releasing a XTR 10 speed cassette and shifters for 2011, so will be on pro racers bikes soon.

  • Its strange as Shimano have had 10speed flat bar shifters for years that many people have used on MTBs with no problems. Wonder why its taken so long for them to sell a dedicated MTB 10 speed groupset.

LOL The up hills must have got longer again, I hate it when that happens
  • I quite like the idea of the double front and closely stacked, more ,usable gears, without so many issues of cross chaining. The front shifting is meant to be very fast.
The integration with the other SRAM components is rather neat. The XX forks have a very neat hydraulic Prolock lock out feature.

Only a matter of time before these ideas trickle down to a more affordable level.
