    I always thought Hans-Michael Holczer sounded sincere when he talked about his dedication to clean cycling. Either he was very naive or I was.....

    Also a ban stops him from taking up coaching and other roles linked to the sport. Just because a rider stops doesn't mean he escapes punishment when caught. This would only encourage riders in the last years of their career to adopt a "double or quits" mentality.
