    so many variables.

    your weight.

    tyre size.

    the tyes themselves.

    Tubes or tubless.

    conditions.

keep adjusting up and down till happy.

Just checked mine. It's twice the length from the end to the middle. Might be worth others checking theirs as well to be safe.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Try 30-40psi and go from there.... Front tyre can usually be a little softer than the rear.

It can vary a lot - generally a lower pressure will give you more grip as the tyres can deform more and get the maximum amount of rubber in contact with the surface. But if you go too soft you get more drag, which slows you down and you risk more pinch flats or the tyres trying to roll off the rims.

Depending on your tyres, the conditions, your weight and riding style you'll find a balance somewhere.....

Get yourself a small pump that will fit in your rucksack and a tyre gauge. Pump up your tyres to about 40 psi in the front and 45 psi in the back then go for ride. Find a short loop you like and ride it. At the end of 1st loop drop pressure by a few pounds. Ride it again drop pressure a bit till you find what feels good. I run 30 in the front and just under 35 in the back seems to suit most riding conditions.

i find this varies so much from one tyre to another and i ave harder pressure for rockier sufaces etc
i use the push to flat technique : i put all my weight on the tyre on the corner of my curb and pump it up until i can only compress the tyre about half way to bottomoing out, and for the front i have it so it compresses 3/4 the way to bottoming out
on my currest tyres this is
Folding Rear Maxxis ADvantage 2.2 - 38 psi
Folding Front Maxxis High roller 2.35 - 32 psi
my race Tyre rear WTB wolverine 2.2 - 43 psi

dont go off other people tyre pressures cos there are too many variables
Dont look at it-ride it! they are tools not f*cking ornaments

  • I pump mine up to the consistency of industrial diamond wrapped in high modulus pre-preg carbon fibre and baked at 170 degrees C for 39 hours. As it turns out, this almost exactly matches 35psi, which was nice.

Schwalbe recommend 29psi for a 75kg rider and increasing it by 1% per kilo.

I see that Lapiere are using the same figure for Continentals.

Maxxis testers use 27psi for a mid size tyre as a starting point.

I always just up the PSI in my tyres everytime I get a pinch flat, currently running 35 on the rear and 25 up front.
