edited October 2009 in MTB buying advice
In july this year and after much deliberation i bought myself my first full susser.
I decided on a Cube AMS 125 K18

http://s711.photobucket.com/albums/ww11 ... CF0100.jpg

Its a well specced bike with great build quality but full suspension just isnt for me.
So my options are
1 Sell the bike on ebay, it cost me £1560 what do you think i could get for it?
2 Sell the frame & rear shock and replace it with a hard tail frame that would suit the revalations such as a pace 305
3 Sell the frame rear & front shocks and replace it with a 100mm shock and frame.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd go for option number 2 - will maximise your returns.

What is it that you don't like about it? Have you tried adjusting the rear shock inc the propedal to almost lock it out??
  • Very quick responce guys.

Other than the pace what are the other frame options. Nothing to hard like a stiffee or a chameleon mind

Have a look at the Kinesis Maxlight frames - light, relatively cheap.

Be aware that all parts may not directly swap ie seatpost, front mech, headset, cabling.
  • I`d also look at steel frames such as the One One Inbred 456,Cotic Soul new model takes 140mm forks,Genesis Altitude,Alpitude, etc.

    is the fork adjustable?
if it is you could get it down to 130mm and get a kinesis decade virtue or a ragley blue pig.
or if the fork isn't adjustable you could get the 2010 orange crush frame

and here is how it looks like https://www.orangebikes.co.uk/images/2010_bikes/jpegs/Crush_17-000448.jpg

    what size is it
    Lapierre Spicy 916
  • Sorry a lot of questions to answer here.
To me the bike feels slow in comparison to my old hard tail. I have tried various pressures & settings but its still not right.
The bike is a 16" frame, its quite big as my old hardtail is 18".
Have thought about a swop but i think there is a possiblity of being inundated with daft offers!

    How about another option.

Part-ex it against and new bike.

    where are you from ?

I know The Bicycle Doctor in Porth, Rhondda, S.Wales do part-ex and are a Cube dealer so would prob give you a good price. they also run regular demo days at Afan so you could tey one before you buy the next one.

Climb On Bikes in Hereford also do part-ex and are again cube dealers.

Another thing to think about uis it may feel slower than your hard tail but is that because it's more comfortable. My FS feels slower than my old HT but on my first trip around afan I was about 12 min faster than my normal time on my HT :D

feels slow? in what way? steering? over rough stuff?

my mates remedy 9 feels slow, only because it smooths the rough stuff so well compared to my HT

dont get chucked off the bike at any speed, so it seems slow, feels unreal over rocks compared to a HT, a floating feeling with some noise

if its steering, play with stem lenght?
