Hi
Lurked for a while on here but have now joined up
I've just bought my first bike in 25 years - Carrera Fury 09 which I originally bought so I could help the mrs out with her marathon training but seem to have got a 'must go out on Sunday morning' bug.
This is the first bike I've bought with my own money, last one was a BSA racer back in 1985!!!
Really out of practise compare to how I could ride as a kid (patience and care seem to have entered my head now) but after a few rides I'm slowly getting used to it.
Anyways, thanks for all the advise I've read before joining and I look forward to posting a bit more on here when I can
Thanks
Rob

Thanks
Think my BSA was a Tour de France, white with blue livery.
Was gutted when I got it (typical kid) cause my mate has just got a red/yellow TI Raleigh but when i look back it was a cracking bike until it got nicked!
The Fury is a really nice bit of kit, pity Halfords have got it back at the minute looking at the clicking crank and a dodgy front caliper, but when I have ridden it, it's been great.
Has it three weeks now and covered about 100 mile, my ar5e still aches though (even with apdded shorts) can't remember it aching like that when I was younger0 -

Ditto... though the pain does lessen. Our body Age has this nasty habit of catching up with our mental age. I still 'feel' like I did at 25. My body says otherwise after a 20 mile ride.Cool, retro and sometimes downright rude MTB and cycling themed T shirts. Just MTFU.

welcome... it just gets better and I find I can laugh even with the most disasterous of capers on a mountain bike! Key is to enjoy yourself and listen to the others. some good stuff (advice out there).0

Welcome.
I'm a fellow beginner too, also on a Carrera Fury, albeit an `08 model.
All you really have to do is get out there and ride as much as possible, and if there's any problems, the forums here are the place to ask the questions.
Only problem is, being a noob there's not much help I can give, but plenty here will be able to provide it.
