    What about Easton EA70's?

    Just get the ones that look best with the bike. If they are roughly the same weight, fit the same cassette and roll smothly there's not going to be much in ti.

    FWIW I've got Fulcrum R5s as a replacement for the stock wheels on my bike (stock wheels were faulty otherwise I'd still be on those) and the only difference in rolling "quality"/speed etc etc is that the freehub is noisier.

    So I am in the same boat.

    my quandary is hand built vs factory

    I commute 50 a day (i know i know - nutter!!)

    presently have a F7 on the front (bullet proof) but have gone through 2* F7s on the rear - crappy bearings if you ask me so am running an OLD 105 on a rim that came from the dark ages (before you ask 75kg and I am not "heavy" on my wheels)

    the hand built route would be CXP 33 's on ultegra (£210 delivered)
    Vs
    Ksyrium Equipes (£235 black vs 2006 model £185 silver)

    I know the pros and cons of the mavic Vs handbuilt principally being (IMHO) replacement spokes on the mavic are a mare, expensive and time consuming plus sealed bearings - ie no serviceability options Vs handbuilt reliability, cheap available spokes, upgradeability (rims)

    However i am vain and bladed 20 spoked vs DB 32 spokes

    Got three mates all riding Fulcrum 7's, one who weighs about 20 stone, for about 6 months (C2W).

    I am riding Fulcrum 5's and started out 6 months back at 23 stone and now weigh in at 19, and have done 2000 plus miles on a 4 times per week 25mile commute.

    My wheels have amazed me, I expected to break spokes once a week. I do ride "light" over bumps etc. but of course I have hit numerous potholes and stuff by mistake.

    None of us have had any problems whatsoever with Fulcrums, so it's horses for courses really. You can put a few of the 7's problems down to bad luck and try some more Fulcrum's, or assume they are all bad and avoid like the plague.
