I have just heard Kasabian's Where did all the love go? and I can't believe how simular some of it sounds like Guns and Roses Sweet child of mine.

Does anyone else agree or am I going mad.

It is only the start bit but it sounds just too close to me to claim it is just their influence used!

  • Thats vanilla ice's career down the swanny then

Musicians have been ripping bits from others work for years. Why should/ would Kasabian be any different?
Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!
I RIDE A KONA CADABRA -would you like to come and have a play with my magic link?
  • That is my point though. There is plenty of stuff that is simular but I think that is nigh on identical.

Maybe it is just me then.

    So 1 tune and they're rip-offs?

    No hope for Oasis then!

    100m Yeah right.
  • They're close but I don't think Axl Rose will be calling in the lawyers just yet. Both tunes are excellent though IMO.
Let's close our eyes and see what happens
  • There hasn't been an original tune for nearly 20 years.

I don't hear the GnR likeness. Don't mind the tune, best on album?Mrs Andy loves Kasabian but I'm not having it. It's that Serge fella that winds me right up. Yes, he writes the tunes but he don't half over egg the pudding. Weird breaks, overly complicated unmelodic riffs etc....and live he stands there in his crap hat with his crap guitar ( horrible Rickenbacker) being crap.

Apparently with the demise of Oasis, Kasabian stated shortly afterwards that they reckoned they were the ideal choice to take over their mantle. Nuff said.

Quite, and not just pop music either. There must have been umpteen scores from science fiction films or TV programmes down the years that were pale knock-offs of various parts from Holst's Planets....
