Budget resistence trainer advice

I'm looking at getting a cheap resistance trainer for the winter, for when the weather really is too rubbish to go out. Personally I'm keen to keep cycling on the road through the winter even when it is wet and cold (that is part of the fun after all!). However there might be times when that is not possible. Hence me not wanting to spend too much.
Any advice for what to look out for, models to go for etc? I might even jump on ebay and look for second hand if need be.

Don't go for a fan trainer unless you wear hearing protection and want to upset your neighbours. Magnetic or fluid are the best options, You have said goodbye to over £100 in most cases.Neil

Have a look on ebay. Tacx Cycleforce Swing is a good basic one that you should be able to pick up for under £100.More problems but still living....0
