Light & Motion Solo Lights - bulbs.

So, first commute this winter with the light dim enough that I needed a proper light as opposed to little flasher plus Tesco £5 LED torch.
I'd charged the Solo Logic MV up a week or 2 ago (first point - I 'd actually well overcharged it as I meant to just top it up by an hour or 2 but left it on charge for prob 12hrs plus - major oops ! )
On we go, light on medium setting, 1 ,mile down the road the light suddenly dims then goes out. The light 'head' still has it's little green LEDs illuminated but there is aero output.
So it's back on with the Tesco torch for the remaining 16 miles.
Darn.
Checking the light at work the bulb has blown to bits, a hole in the glass !
Have any other users had problems with L & M Solo bulbs blowing ? They cost approx £13 each and this is now the 2nd failure I've had. This will be it's 2nd winter but I'm now reluctant to fork out for another and feel I'm probably about to join the ranks of P7 torch users very soon.
I tried contacting Light and Motion after the first failure last winter but got no response.
