Have around £100 - £150 to spend and want a really decent upgrade - what does anyone recommend?

Well dependent on the year you bought it, you may want to upgrade to Tora forks which can be had for under £150 new. Failing that, get a used pair on Ebay for £100 and then spend £50 on a new crankset, handlebars, stem or seatpost? (or hydro brakes if you just have mechanical ones currently)

I'd recommend some new tyres if you're still using the stock ones.

Forks and tyres, and nothing else unless it's broken. The Vulcan works pretty well apart from that but at the same time, it's not worth spending big amounts on kit for it IMO, better to put any other money towards a better bike (it'd cost more than £500 to make a Vulcan work as well as a Fury, frinstance). But forks and tyres are transferrable, so it's never a bad investment IMO.
