I just received a new Focus bike from Wiggle.
The fork is a Reba SL.
The tech at wiggle called me as he was building the bike and said he would set the fork for my weight.
When I unpacked the bike today I thought I would check the pressures with my shock pump.
The top +ve was only 50 psi and the bottom -ve was 0 psi.
I pumped them both to 110 and pumped the fork up and down and it felt great.
Then about 10 mins later I noticed it felt rock hard and found the -ve was back down near 0 psi again.
I re pumped it to 110 and while bouncing the fork it popped and the dust seal on the left leg blew about an inch up the leg.
Seems like the internal seals are buggered.
Is this common as I have not had an air fork before or am I v unlucky?
This was the last one of this bike model wiggle had on sale so I guess I will just have to get a refund and look elsewhere.
Any thoughts?
