Has anyone out there bought a bike from Cycles UK in Chelmsford recently or had any experience in dealing with them?

Myself and a couple of friends are considering buying mid-level road bikes from them and wondered what the pre & post sales service is like?

    Never been overwhelmed with other Cycles UK branches myself.

    If you're in Chelmsford then it'd be worth your while visiting Chelmer Cycles.

    The guys at Chelmer Cycles are great, I get all my mountain bike gear from them and they always look after me.

    The only thing is though they only really stock Cannondale road bikes and as there are a group of us buying bikes all together, it doesn't give us too much choice.

    You've got Biketrax in Brentwood as well, remember.
    But if you are after a mid level road bike, you won't go far wrong with Ciclos Uno in Hainault, worth the trip if you don't know it. [/b]

    yeah I agree re Chelmer Cycles although I havent dealt with them but know those that have.

    I found they are very biased towards Cannondale when I did go there once - funny that!

    A cyclist friend of mine recommended Ciclos Uno as being very good.

    No experience of Cycles UK apart from the odd popping in the old shop.

    If they only really stock Cannondales you can hardly blame them :D

    I just bought a trek 4.5 c madone 2009 from cycles uk in chelmsford.The assistant,Alex, was very helpful and knowledgeable. measured me then went through all the bike fitting checks with me sitting on the bike. Had a good test run and when i came back i didn't pressured into buying the bike....although after the test spin i must admit by then my mind was made up.Overall,pleased with service and mostly my new steed!
