Senior moments + flip flops

Bangkok is flat in the main - the only hills we have are man made - my biggest 'hill' is the canal bridge about 500 metres from home. Usually, I find a comfortable gear and keep it, 48/14 (92.6") is my normal gear on the hybrid. For a few days, it has been a bit of a struggle; the canal bridge has got steeper, starting off has been slower than normal - have I got weaker in the past few days? I don't know why but at the first coffee stop this morning, I looked at the gear indicator and it was pointing to '7' - I had spent the last few days riding on 48/12 (108")! I am now back on 48/14.
My second 'senior moment' happened a few minutes ago. I was updating my blog and inserting last month's mileage graph; I remember copying it from excel, transferring it to photoshop and converting to JPEG but when I tried to load it into photobucket, I could not find it! Please, refresh my memory - last month was September 2009, wasn't it? I spent about 15 minutes trying to find October's graph!
I am no lightweight but I can walk up the wooden steps and across the wooden verandah floor to the coffee shop silently, why can't ladies wearing flip flops and weighing about one third of my weight walk silently? Have you ever listened to the noise that flip flops make? They go 'flip, flop, flip, flop....'. Have you ever tried to make them go 'flop, flip'? It's impossible - even if you start off with your 'flop' foot, it goes 'flip'!

Amputation of the toes and bastinado to the soles of the feet is the only appropriate punisment for wearing flip-flops.
