Can anyone provide advice on whether Look or SPD pedals are best.
I have Look on my road bike and want to know what to put on my mountain bike. I am also buying another road bike for the winter and dont know if to change over to SPD's for both road bikes and the mountain bike.

Shimano SPDs are the way to go.. £30 for a pair of M520s. All you'll ever need. Used them for commuting and XC and no complaints after a year or so.0

SPD's for the MTB, but stick with the Looks for the road bikes. IMHOCycling weakly0

I run spuds on the roadie and the mtb and commuter, just for practical reasons mainly.
The old spuds-vs-roadie pedals debate is ongoing. Everyone has their opinion. For me, the practical benefits of spuds outweigh any minor benefits to roadie pedals. And I can use any pair of shoes on any bike.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
Being a BC coach to a youth team, and a vet endurance XC racer. IMHO, why you would want anything else other than Speedplay Frogs for your MTB I will never understand. The upside? They never clog up with mud as there are no springs to worry about. They are also very knee forgiving, always an issue with MTB'ing. Downside? More money than the inferior alternatives.Jared0
