Winter tyres - again

Having trawled through the search option and past posts for a topic that I though was covered in full ... my man flu frustration has got the better of me and since I cant find it I will have to start again ...
winter bike all decked out and ready to go until I notice the large lump of glass in the tyre ( no P%^%^%! ), the tyre now has a dirty great hole in it that I think is beyond the superglue and tyre boot remedy ..
so. recommend me a good, durable, grippy 700 x23 tyre if you would be so kind!
I'm changing both tyres as the ones currently on the bike (vittoria rubino pro ) pick up cuts and glass like tyres made of warm brie !
not one mention of planet x at all .................. DOH!

Michelin Krylion Carbons are the best tyres for puncture resistance that i have ever used. fitted my current set in mid October last year have ridden all year round and still no flats after 6500Kms. By the way the roads i commute on are crap. Can i say anymore.

I can't vouch for 23mm, but I love my 25mm Krylions for bad weather riding round the hellish roads of the Campsies. Others may be better, but I'm happy enough to not be tempted to try them.0

looks like the carbons are the way to go given the reviews i have read since the post.
wouldn't it be great to live somewhere that did not necessitate all the odds n sods of winter riding!0 -

how do they compare to the michelin krylion carbons? apart from the lightweightness and a lot more speed.0 -
i quite like the bonty hardcase tyres - i've had a set for ages on my winter bike - they don't seem to pick up cuts or nicks and haven't p*nctured in the two and a bit years I have owned them! - i have them in 28mm which means they are proper comfy too! - heavy buggers though.
If I was changing them for 'posh' tyres I'd be getting vittoria open pave in 24mm - seem to gt great reviews in fact I can't think i've ever heard a bad word about them!0
