661 Filter shoes - Please help!

I've just bought a pair of these and am having trouble trying to work out how to fit the cleats. There were no instructions in the box on how to do it, and 661's website has nothing. i've heard you're supposed to remove/peel back the marked section on the sole, but i don't wanna steam in there and cut the whole thing out and bugger them up if you're not supposed to :?

Anyone got a pair of these that fancies helping me out here?

    If you look at the sole of the shoe and flex it a bit you'll see where the outline of the cleat pocket is.

    Just use a Stanley knife to gently trim it out - once you got part of it going you can "peel" it back and just gently run round the rest of it. Peasy.

    So you do need to take the entire thing out then? Not just peel it back or something?

    Eh? I don't follow. How are you going to fit the cleats if you don't remove it?

    Mine took a fair bit of force/cutting to get out. It's pretty obvious which bit to take out though.
