Can you name the eight current cyclists who have won a stage in each of the three Grand Tours?

Disclaimers:

1. I won't be near a computer for much of Saturday, so don't wait for confirmation of answers. Be your own judges.

2. I read there were eight, if you find one off my list then Chapeau!

3. Afx, if you can list them straight off the bat, then leave it for a few hours.

(Clue for FF: Contador's not one of them)

One point to jim one. Seven to go.

(Don't get all of them in the next hour Jim)

And one answer at a time people. No cut and pasting the Tour start list.

    I can't!

Gilberto Simoni is another one, though.

That's one of the hard ones though (he doesn't seem like a Vuelta type) - I think there are two or three harder though. Five to go.

  • Sastre, I think. I know he's had Giro & Tour stages and being Spanish surely he must have a win there...

Petacchi? He's another that's done all the GTs at some point.

Carlos has never done it on home ground- but Denis is good. Four to go

Gentlemen, bow down to a master of knowledge. PLG wasn't on my original list, but Freire here has nailed it. Double points. And on only his 2nd post. I suspect he may be Oscar himself.

(Note: I got the 8 from a report which said that when Gerrans won at the Vuelta)

Duffield gets the easiest one. Three to go. I reckon two are pretty hard. One took a hell of a lot a research to find out.

Juan Manuel Garate if I remember correctly. Won the Vuelta stage ages ago.

You've got the final three: Bennati, Dave Z and Garate (I thought this one was the hardest)

Was gonna take a punt on McGee, but only 2nd on the Vuelta stage that won him gold.

Anyone else surprised that there are only 2 sprinters in this list? One of my first thoughts was McEwen but he's never won a stage of the Vuelta.

I think we should have lots of trivia questions - I thought this one would last longer.

For those who like trivia quizes, have a look at www.sporcle.com . I love this site. Loads of quizes, and they have ones about the Tour, Giro and Vuelta
