bike wont freewheel

I was out on my bike today and my chain came off as I was changing gear. After putting the chain back on my bike wont free wheel, when I stop pedalling the chain and pedals spin around. When I lift the rear wheel of the ground and spin the wheel in both directions the chain and pedals spin. Hope this makes sense and any advice on what the problem might be and how to fix it.

Sounds like the freehub is kanckered. What hub is it?0

Not sure to be honest but that's what a mate said can it be fixed or will it be better to replace it0
