rear mech?

hello all just found this website but looks great.
anyway i'm a newbie at this so i need some help on choosing a rear mech as mine ended up in the spokes somehow.
i've got a Gt aggressor and would like to upgrade this particiular part as i've been told i will get smoother gear changing. however can anyone advise which i should go for ,looking to spend upto £80 max

What gear shifters do you have, and how many gears front and back?0

i've just had a Shimano SLX M662 Shadow fitted to my Kona now it shifts as smooth as and only £45.00 from Wiggle , Highly recommended

ah £45 sounds good to me thanks guys.
supersonic - it just says shimano 8 speed on them.
they are the trigger ones with the brakes attached0 -
