    At last, the UCI's taking real action. This scheme should really help.

    No need to bother with testing the 2008 Giro blood samples or translating the Puerto documents.

    I'd like to be a fly on the wall when Lance logs on to learn about TUEs.

    More seriously, the website's just a tiny gesture but useful. Anything that reinforces the message to youngsters is good, it's cheap to produce and can't do any harm.

    But many cycling fans have ended up as amateur haematologists, ready to discuss plasma dilution, off-scores and reticulocytes. Any pro comtemplating their next "programme" isn't going to be put off.

    It's no coincidence that the UCI website is at the top of the running order on cyclingnews.com right now but that the second item is Thomas Dekker vowing to return and Rabo forced onto the defensive about its internal controls.
