chainring bolts

do i neeed specific bolts if i want to run a single ring at the front or can i just use my current bolts???? im ditching my other too rings to save abit of weight and experiment

Yes, i think you can use washers. Shorter bolts are better though and not too expensive.0

found some truvativ ones on crc for about 7-8quid might give them ago if i cant get some spacers. im sure ive seen some on on here use spacers for their bolts tho :?0

IIRC evans sell some "stainless steel single chainring bolts" that are actually aluminium double chainring bolts. I hate evans.0

you can use spacers, you lbs might have shorter bolts for a few quid.0

I just used a couple of spacers that my lbs had lying around for my Kona.0

You can buy shorter bolts or you can do what I did and used washers bought from Wilkinsons . I'm now waiting for them to rust
BTW, on my other bike, I had a cheap crankset which I drilled out the rivets to reveal the 32 tooth cog I wanted.CAAD9
