Hi guys,

Did anybody see the Dedacciai Scuro Frame on the forn of Cycling plus October issue? Does anybody know where i can get on of these frames. I'm aware that Ribble sell Deda frames, but i was wondering if anybody knew somewhere where i could get the straight up Dede frame complete with Dedacciai decals etc.

Cheers

Fair enough. In what way is the Nero better?

  • Cheers Speed King,

I've seen them in many guises Guercilotti (spl), Telaio, Dream, Ribble. I think the Scuro is a better looking bike however as you say it's a fair bit more expensive than the Nero. So i will probably just grab the Nero. Did you see the front cover of Cycling Plus? This October had the Dedacciai frame, except it was covered in Deda decals not Ribble etc.
  • buy a dribble and take the decals off thats what im going to do.bit off a ball ache though i bet.

  • Gonna answer this in one go i hope! I HAVE the NERO RC, have HAD the SCURO RS , i got the RC a week after they advertised it on Ribbles website complete with the full built kit as advertised i use it on sprints mainly as i find it lighter than most i have ridden. As for the why is it better Q? I just feel when a bike is better usually, but in this case the geometry feels nicer, more compact than the RS. The finishing kit tht Ribble give both bikes on the pictures is why i place the Nero RC as a better deal in the sense it is better value but as i said it is only my opinion!
The only change i gave the RC was the wheelset i didnt like the FWDD set when i tried a test bike and opted to buy it without them and got a set of HED wheels instead privately.
The SCURO RS just didnt do it for me ,but hey it may be different for you do take my word try them both and see??

buy a dribble and take the decals off thats what im going to do.bit off a ball ache though i bet.

Why? That seems really petty - it's still the same bike. If you've got a problem with Ribble don't buy their bike. Seems very hypocritical to buy one if you think their so bad you have to remove the name. Let me guess, are you the sort who will then send the bike back to Ribble if you mess up removing the decals and try to claim it's faulty?

Bearing in mind these frames are fairly generic and I've been riding a Ribble built bike for 20 years with no issues I'd have no problem with either but would prefer the Nero just because I don't like integrated seat tubes. The Nero must be the cheapest 3k mono bike around?
  • Speed King,

Can you post a couple of pictures of your Nero RC? I'm trying to get in contact with Ribble but all i get is engaged tone. I might have to get myself down to the Preston for a jolly Saturday away...

The OP wanted a Deda frame without decals on. Seeing as Ribble sell the same frame but with their decals on then this is another way of the OP getting what he wants.

I can't see how he's being petty? Just offering another solution. Plus some people prefer the 'naked' look on carbon frames.

I suggest in future you READ posts and understand them before posting an answer.

i love my dribble scuro hcr i love it so much that im getting the crash damage repaired on it and this gives me the perfect opportunity to get the decals removed, and its nothing to do with them being ribble i just prefer nude frames (although they were a bit over the top) and im not the type of person who would take it back if it went wrong i wouldnt attempt it but the crash has somewhat played my hand.
but back to the op i was giving a if some what tounge in cheek way of getting a deda frame in nude.

Sorry butty, had read the OP a few days before and forgotten they were looking for non-Ribble. The dribble nickname and talking of removing the decals made me think you were having a dig at them! As Ribble buy them in and presumably add the decals then presumably they would sell the frame bare if that's what someone wants?

Erm - deda decals would mean just the actual frame material decals, a bit like the old school 531 stickers.

Have a look on Dedacciai's website.

Are you sure about that? My reading of the OP is that he wants this

    photo_108.jpg

Thought I was going nuts for a while, was convinced I'd seen fully branded Deda bikes in the past! :D

Incidently to the OP that image is from a French site - take a look as they are selling what you want http://www.megacyclesports.fr/produits/cat-velo-complet-7.html bit pricey due to the Euro and my French isn't up to much so don't know if they deliver sorry!

Isn't the one shown on the front of Cycling+ the latest Scuro RS -it seems to have the integraded seat mast anyway.
The photo above is the old Scuro HCR presumably?

    Oops! Nero Corsa even!

Hi Sturmey, not sure if the OP only wants Scuro or is interested in either Scuro or Nero Corsa. The site in the link has Deda decalled Ribelle's as well as the Nero but no sign of a Scuro. I only showed the pic as I assumed that that is the decal he is looking as opposed to the basic material logo.

If it is possible to get the naked frame from Ribble I wonder if Argos do the Deda decals? They reckon they can supply loads of makes including retro - might be worth an email to them.
  • Hey guys,

Sorry i haven't been able to reply to the comments questions and also apologise if i wasn't too clear on what i was asking for. Basicallly i'm looking for a Scuro HS or Nero RC Dedacciai frame with the all the Dedacciai decals on the frame.

If you look on the front cover of Cycling+ they have a Scuro HS with full Deda decals (i.e. not just the fork or chainstays like you would get with a Ribble decalled bike). Does anybody know where i could get my hands on one of these frames decalled in Dedacciai logos?

I've tried getting in contact with Cycling plus a few times via email and even phoning up the office but no one will answer either. Does anybody have a contact at Cycling+ i could ask about where they got there Dedacciai Scuro HS frame?

Thanks Pross for your link though i think they're the older Deda Nero Corsa frames not the Nero RC and likewise with the Scuro HS

    Jim

I tried to get some info from Dedacciai last year about obtaining a Scuro HCR with Dedacciai decals, or even a set of decals from them to apply to a nude carbon frame.

No joy, so I got a set of decals made up from an ebay graphics seller - I supplied the artwork and they then listed a series of Dedacciai frame decals in various size and colour options.

    Looked like this in the end;

    vuelta1nx4.th.jpg

You could try an ebay search to see if they're still available (can't remember the sellers name after all of this time unfortunately) as this might help you get the look you prefer if you can source a completely nude frame (I can personally vouch for Rodney at Go Sport Spex / Radical Sport Spex as a great guy to deal with and I know that he should be getting nude Scuro RS and Nero RCs in - he goes by the name Rodders on the Veloriders forums if you want to get in touch with him or you could email him through his website(s))

  • Cheers Andy,

Sounds like a good plan. I hoping that if i say Cycling +, Cycling Plus enough on this thread that somebody from Cycling PLus will be able to answer me also. Does anybody have a contact at Cycling Plus that i could talk to? I doubt that they get decals made for their Scuro frame but if they did then maybe thats the way forward.
Anybody from Cycling Plus out there listening/reading?

Cheers guys for all your help.
