Should I keep it or should it be returned?
I bought one of these form Evans
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/pearl-izumi/gavia-vest-ec016151
What I really wanted was the Pearl Izumi Zephyr in Med blue but alas non in stock so ordered the above, looks just as good and down from £70 to £40 so looks a bargain, however upon receipt its as thick as a winter jacket minus the arms and weighs just as much. I cannot see the point of this, when will I wear it? If it's cold enough to warrant the use of something this thick I would surely need sleeves as well so a full winter jacket would be called for not a thick gillet, or am I wrong, would there ever be a scenario when I would need this thick gillet?
All I wanted was a gillet to stick in my back pocket, so before I send it back can anyone convince me of a reason to keep it?

To be fair, it tells you what its for -
"Fabric Properties: Thermal regulation/Wind water protection"
I would say you'd use it in the autumn, so round about now0 -

Colour is nice but not worth £40

Surely layers is the answer to incremental weather with a windproof light gillet if needed...
Not convinced that I should keep it.....yet..... anyone else got a reason for me?0 -
I'm with you; cannot see the point so send it back.0

I ended up taking it to the local Evans branch and exchanging it for a Pearl Izumi Zephyr - thin and packable, ideal for the back pocket which is what I wanted. It's only a thin piece of plastic, great for keeping the wind off your chest but there's no insulating layers and therefore not a replacement for a proper warming jersey/jacket/layer.
I already have a Zephyr but the next size up, the wrong size for me so some lucky mate of mine will probably take it off my hands0
