DMC,
Jeez, you're really taking this to heart now. Only 23 posts and bad spelling ? That must make me wrong and you the better person...0 -
I agree with much of what Feltuaoka says. I do a lot of running and acknowledge other runners out on the road. I may see someone ahead and I may pass them (I'll say 'Hi'), but not for one moment do I think I've taken a scalp, as they may have run twice as far and done a hard hill session, and I'm fairly fresh.
The only time I would consider I'm victorious is if I'm in a race (everyone doing the same run), battling it out with another competitor and then beating them on the line.
The whole SCR is complete nonsense in my opinion

I was riding up from the A2, at Stone chapel up the Newnham valley through Newnham, Doddington, past the Ringlestone Inn to the top of Hollingbourne hill.
Know the route well mate - a lovely blast back from the top of Hollingbourne Hill into Sittingbourne
Are you going to be out to watch the Hill Climb on Sunday?0 -

Rule no.1 Never be overtaken or seen to be struggling.
Rule no.2 When allowing someone to approach you so as to benefit from your company, casually mention how you're still feeling pretty strong after 6 hours in the saddle and how you really don't want to push too hard as you're saving yourself for the classics/giro/tour/vuelta/worlds (dependant on time of year)."I hold it true, what'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost;
Than never to have loved at all."

Near the ringlestone inn? It's not really a hill is it :-)
bit of pointless trivia about that place apparently used to be owned by some witches! And why are the seats so small in that place........If you don't fall off....you're not riding hard enough!0 -

Nah, not hilly there but it is a nice ride up if you push it from the A2 and yeah, I have no idea why the seats are so small, no one in my club knows either.0 -

I may well see you there then. I'm dropping over to Ashford to meet up with some guys then coming back to watch the Hill Climb - I'll be on a very red Orbea - feel free to say Hi if you spot me
I don't like going down Hollingbourne - a little too narrow and with too much gravel etc to be real fun. My favorite route round that way si out through Faversham to Canterbury, towards Ashford, through Challock, Down Charring Hill, along the A20 then up Hollingbourne and back to Sittingbourne. There's another nice loop through Rochester (via Borstal Hill) and Maidstone that also finishes with Hollingbourne0 -

Going down charing hill is really good, nice and open you can give it some gas. I'll be on a litespeed siena in medway velo kit, so if you see me first, say hello. I also like coming from charing down the A251 to Faversham, that is a blinding road.0
