Chips on steerer tube

Hello,
I was fitting a crown race to my fork the other day with a hammer. I slipped a couple of time and made some small chips/scratches in the steerer tube. They are close to where the headset bearing will run. My question is, is this ok to ride and will it damage the headset bearings? They are not deep but have made the area rough. The steerer is steel and the fork is a Suntour XCR RL. Here is a pic I took although it is not the best -

I think it will be fine. Steel steerer, and nice and thick at that point. Just gently file off any burrs.0

Hi thanks I was worried it might be weakened or it might damage the headset bearings. I will file it. Thanks for the quick response.0
