What chain - How long?

I need a new chain for my Dawes Super Galaxy and need to know how long it should be. Most chains do not advertise how many links they are. Do i need to get 2 just in case?

    Most chains are 113/114/115 links long depending on brand. This should be the right length for you. Unless you run some unholy large front rear set up ie. 60-27. Chains are generally slightly longer that they need to be.

    last two I bought were 116 links and I needed to shorten them both. (road and MTB)

    i don't know how many links they came with (or how many they ended up with!) but all the chains I have bought I have had to shorten - and this is on a variety of 'gearing' options - i.e. triple with max 52x26 through 30x12 and more recently compact with max 50x26 through 34x12 - always had to remove a few links.

    I very much doubt you will need two chains.
