hi,
as the title says can you upgrade a lyric solo air to a 2-step, i've looked at all the manuals and parts lists, found all the pictures i can, found the 2-step complete unit to buy, i just don't know for sure if mainly there is any difference in the crown that wouldn't take it (thread depth/stepping)...... other than that it looks like it should though.
thanks
adam
edit: think my fork is 2008/09

don't bother
I also had a Lyric 2-step and had multiple warranty claims as the fork constantly "lost travel" at one point I had 50mm of travel on the 160mm setting
despite claims the 2-step has been "fixed" I would avoid like the plague...
they eventually upgraded the internals to coil u-turn and I never any issues again, but hardly used the travel adjuster as it was very slow to make changes
I currently run a 2009 Fox 36 Talas RC2 and absolutely love the speed of the Talas travel adjuster, which can be used whilst riding, but admitedly the 36 Talas is no where as near "plush" as the Lyric Coil U-Turn, and requires more regular servicing (I do the "lower" service every 6- 8 weeks)
take your pick....Call 01372 476 969 for more information on UK\'s leading freeride park - Esher Shore www.eshershore.com0 -
thanks, maybe i'll rethink,
i do quite a varied amount of riding and was thinking if i could run the two different heights i could set the bike geometry for xc and am.
Still if anyone knows if it’s doable, let me know.

Go for the coil U turn conversion."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

interesting, i hadn't thought of going that way,... still do the u-turn/2-step top caps fit in the solo crowns,... i've only see kits listed for going from 2-step to u-turn...
also would the coil sit in the effective air sleeve of the solo air (making scratches, meaning do going back?)

You remove all the spring assembly, and plonk in a Uturn (with its push rod). Inc the solo air sleeve.0
