Rocksox Monarch 3.3 Problem

I finally got round to installing my new Monarch 3.3 today after waiting for the mount kit, but I'm having issues with it actually holding any air.
If I pump it up to pressure, as soon as I disconnect it, it loses all pressure. So if I reconnect the pump, the gauge reads zero.
Thing is, it doesn't seem that the shock is actually completely empty. If I depress the schrader valve, air comes out. Also, I can compress the bike/shock through most of it's travel, but it still returns to it's previous position. If I sit on the bike, going off the sag gradients, I'm getting about 50-60% sag. I can't get this any lower regardless of how much air I put in.
Anyone have any ideas before I ship it back to Merlin?
Oh and I've checked that the valve core and the swivel valve adapter are tight and secure.

Think I've fixed it!
Swapped the valve core out for the one that was in my old Bar 2.1 and it seems to be holding pressure. I've got a 30 mile ride tomorrow night so we'll see then how it holds up.Eyes on the prize.0
