shame, I was looking forward to admiring it in real life. Get yourself out soon!0

Scott S50 Speedster, 4 years old.
Sora groupset, but have an oldish dura ace front mech.
Shimano R500 wheels in black, bombproof.
No mudguards.
Was out for 3 hours this morning in the rain, excellent.0 -
Summer and crisp (DRY!) winter days: Ridley Gladius Veloce equipped with Vredestein Tricomps.
Commuting and Winter: Ridley Pegasus Veloce equipped with Bonty Hardcases 700x25, but I'm trying to sourec cheap Vittoria Open Pavés.
PS: Where can i get those MUDGUARDS from?0 -
Here is mine. It might not be seeing winter this year though, going to be using my CAAD9, can't afford to modify the winter bike to suit my position.0

Freehub, what do you mean "modify to suit your position?", and how come this will cost you £?
My Ridley Gladius is a 61cm frame with a 59cm TT and 110 stem.
My Ridley Pegasus is a 58 cm frame with a 57cm TT and 130 stem. I twiddled seat position and height to get to the same set up.
Are there major modifcfations you have to make, or is my cold making me a dimwit and I'm not understanding what you're saying!
Nice Bikes though!0 -
A lad in my team has full DA (9 spd) and some nice reynolds wheels. I suppose if you're riding long enough you eventually collect so many bits you can do it."A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"
PTP Runner Up 20150 -
Wheels: Campy Vento G3 in summer (27 rear, 24 fron)
Rodi Airline Evo Deep section (32 front and rear)
Pick up bucketloads of garbage on the wheels. Shards of glass, small stones and grit.
Friend swears by Vittoria Open Pavés.0 -
Voila...
Van Nicholas Yukon.
Ultegra 6700.
Easton EA 70 Wing bar + Stem.
Handbuilt Open Pro's with 105 hubs. (Not built yet!) EA 90 SLX's temporary.
Gator Skin tyres.
Spesh BG Phenom saddle.
Full guards.
Oh and yes.... I will trim up the mudguards...Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -

The Frames too big to look good though. Headtubes more than 15cm look crap.
Need a long headtube? Tough it looks crap.
That's the price you pay for not being a short ar5e0 -

nice-looking machine, but why will you 'trim' the mudguards..?
By trim, I mean adjust, not cut...
They stick out too far from the tyre at the bottom.
Need to play with the 'guard supports, but not too keen on bending them...Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -

Looks like all the 2010 Scott Speedsters have mudguard eyes and clearance - the S50 only weighs 20lbs and retails at £599. Anyone got their hands on one yet?0

My 30 year old Mercian mountain bike on slicks. I built the wheels when I put the bike together originally although I replaced the rear rim when I used it on a tour of New Zealand in 1999. It's got mudguards and carrier (still repaired with the tie wraps I fitted in NZ ). None of this fancy indexed gearing or even quick release hubs (I thought they'd be vulnerable off-road). I use it for local running about all year.
I suppose all my bikes are 'Winter' bikes in that they have full mudguards and carriers so the new tandem will be out on suitable Winter Wednesdays and at weekends weather permitting.
Of course a real Winter 'bike' has 3 wheels
