Hope Hoops out of true

I just bought a set of hope hoops - stans ztr 355 rims on hope2 hubs.
after two spins both wheels have gone woefully out of true. i thought originally it was a tyre seating problem, giving a 'wobble' (see earlier thread) but it aint.
has anyone had this problem? my riding is xc only, no big drops or jumps etc.. can't believe that these wheels could be this delicate??
