What's he calling himself on E-Bay these days?

I'm looking at a pair of wheels for winter from "fastpartsforbikes", noticed Northwich, Cheshire in the location and became concerned.

  • On the subject of Dave Hinde, take a look at the back of the latest cycling weekly. An advertisement for the company includes the quote from Dave himself, "Just got back from Eurobike and I've never seen so much shite in all my life". Just thought that was a bit funny.
  • That's a nice looking bike on the back page too...

So... what's wrong with Dave Hinde?

put Dave Hinde into the forum search or goggle or any other search engine.

    And read.

Saw that ad, thought it was ironic on an advert for such a hideously ugly waste of metal. Worst looking bike I've seen with the possible exception of the late 80's magnesium Kirks!

are the trading standards people going to shut him down? just wondering as majority of people have complaind about the customer service and then (lesser extent) secondly the bikes and bits that havnt been put together properly.

I think from the exhaustive amount of complaints that they did investigate a while ago, but trading he continues to do.
  • A nice misunderstood man, a great racer in his day. There are lots of people trying to con bike shops into repairing stuff they have trashed, these people give everyone a bad name.

    Bloody hilarious :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

So, let me get this straight, the people responsible for his dreadful reputation (and things like the ASA adjudication against him) are the customers!

And when he said such things as (to paraphrase) all other bike brands are a load of shite, and when he frequently describes his ebay customers as "thieving lying scum" and the like, he is just being misunderstood and he is really being quite charming - gimme a break!

(you can read some of the delightful feedback he has left for his victims here. Fortunately eBay has now stopped sellers leaving negative feedback because of abuse like this. Interestingly, Hinde has hundreds of customers that seem to claim non-delivery of goods - Hinde accuses them of trying to scam/lie/thieve, and/or blames Royal Mail).

Having been a "great racer" does not make him a nice man, and given his behaviour I would say that only his mother could ever refer to him as "nice".

So, Chas, are you his mum, or are you DH himself?

His racing ability is not in question. But his trading record is staggeringly awful - some of the feedback comments he leaves for his disgruntled customers are jaw-dropping...

I'm still smiling from his quote on the back of CW. 'Just got back from Eurobike and I've never seen so much shite in all my life'. Does he actually think the show was put on for him for approval?

Wow, I've never seen a seller giving so much abuse on ebay and he's supposed to be a professional business. Will make sure I avoid him.

I see he's done it again with this week's advertising on the back of Cycling Weekly. Something along the lines of "The Dave Hinde CX1 doesn't have a specific Belgian or French feel, unlike the bikes reviewed in Cycling Weekly last week. It feels like a racing bike because that's what it is" - bikes for racers not posers.

Something like that anyway. He is such a prize pillock.
