I'm looking to get an assos jacket this winter. I am tall and thin, 6' 2" and 160 pounds. What size would people suggest? I'm worried that XL would be too baggy and L would be too short. What size did other people get for their height/weight. Thanks.

I followed the Assos sizing chart, Medium for me according to that, and so far everything I've got has fitted perfectly.

Well Assos sizing is pretty critical and for good reason. The cut is so racer that if it is too big then it will be 'baggy'. If you are thin, the large might fit but there again might not be long enough for you. If you can get to a dealer to try before you buy then I would do that.

I agonised a few months before swopping an XL Airblock jacket for a Large. It can be a tough call.

But good choice all the same, they keep you so damn warm, lovely piece of kit.

I bought a pair of Assos bib shorts early summer and found the sizing guide to be spot-on. I am 6'5", 34 waist, and went for XLG. Hope this helps :)

what's your height/weight if you don't mind saying?

Most online stores have really esy returns, I'd recommend buying all sizes you're weighing up and keep what fits best. At the end of the day you'll know you've made the right choice :)

Well not as tall as you. 5' 10" and yes slim, but only slight build you could say. Around 12 stone last time I checked.
  • you sound similarly sized to me, maybe a bit lighter. I tried medium and large in Assos. decided large felt better. bibs certainly aren't baggy on me.

Rather than start (yet) another thread, thought I'd add on here. 6'3" about 14st and 35" waist. In between all Assos sizes, any tips? Thanks, Francis

Try before you buy is the only thing to make sure ...

Very similar to me, my bibshorts are XLG and perfect.
General opinion is to go by height as the waist measurement is flexible.

Just about to order my Airjack 851 jacket and winter LL Bibs.

Now I am 6'1" tall but only have a 90cm chest.

The Assos chart say L for my height but XS for my chest size  :?

    Talk about confused
  • I have recently purchased some Assos stuff.

I am 6'3" with a fairly slight build, and like you, was very hesitant about ordering XL since I assumed the cut would leave the garments baggy, but this certainly wasn't the case.

I ordered an XL Intermediate Evo jersey and it fits me like a glove, and some F1 MIlle shorts in XL that fit me well. If I had one criticism of the shorts, it would be that the leg elastic is fairly loose, but I do have fair thin legs.

A rule of thumb - especially when getting shorts - is to get fitted for your height first, waist size second.
  • I was in the same dilema, so off I poped to a local stockist, Ely the 90 min drive was well worth it I know now exactly what size to buy.

I am 6'2", 90Kg 33inch waist with a 40inch Chest and the XL in both Jacket and LL Winter Tights were spot on, Just thought I would share :)

Oh you mean Ely city cycles then I guess, I know Mark there, good bloke. Their prices are at the top end but they always seem to have stock.
  • Thats the place, I did feel a bit tight just trying stuff on, but when I am looking at a 851jacket and winter LL with pad, I would have paid an extra 100 notes. But well stocked yes. NIce shop to be honest.
